Anyone successfully running a 13.5” 37 or 38 on a 20” wheel? I’ve got 37x12.5x20 RG on blitz 20x9 +20 offset (super flush). Wondering if going the extra 1” wide tire section will cause rubbing ir issues vs the 12.5. I have a Carli backcountry level on my tremor - actually picking up a new 22 tremor to replace it tonight cuz my order just came in. considering selling my wheel/tire and going 18 but for now - wondering if the 38 or 37 would fit with that 20” wheel or not.

Thanks all

Wheel diameter has no effect...the issue is tire diameter, wheel width and offset. Increasing wheel diameter only affects unsprung weight and ride quality (less rubber = stiffer ride).

I’m running 37x13.5R18 on 18x9.5 -18 wheels with Carli 2.5.

I did have to do some trimming in the back of the front fender well due to the negative offset (-18), wider wheel (9.5”) and tire width (13.5”).

The video link is to a CJC youtube video on basic trimming to fit 37x12.5” on a 9” wide wheel with 0 offset and a truck with no fender flares (Tremors have the 3/4” flare).

What @Tremor76 said.

I'm gonna add a little bit. I am currently running 37x12.50r20 tires on a 20x9 0-offset wheel. I did have to trim the fender corner a bit as shown. During normal road driving, physics dictate that it won't be a problem due to the way the truck sways. Off road, it will definitely rub without a trim when the wheels are turned just the right way.

My next set of tires will be a 38x13.50r20 like you mentioned. Same wheels. I have no doubt that it'll be just fine with the trimming I did. Articulation will be reduced a bit, but I found that with what I drive off-road, it won't be a problem. I would rather have the larger diameter tires to go over obstacles easier. But that's just me and my driving. YMMV, of course.

Right on guys. This is what I’m looking for. Picked up my new 22 truck tonight - I’m gonna give my wheel diameter some thought - I think I’d like the 18’s for the extra sidewall and ride quality improvement, but it would cost me less to get 20” diameter 37’s or 38’s in 13.5” - I can’t decide which look I like better 18 vs 20, either. And I’m betting 38’s ride great on a 20” wheel.

I think I’m overthinking it but I’m glad the trimming seems to have resolved any rub issues.

Word of caution...If you are sticking with the Carli 2.5” (level), I am confident the 38” tires will not fit, even with trimming.

If you are running the Carli 4.5”, then I know you can fit 38”👍

I was tempted to sell my level kit and go with a 4.5” - nice truck by the way! I just traded mine that was star white and blackout like that. Love that combo!

Now that's quite the limit of articulation there.

Oh, I misread the OP on the suspension mod. I didn't realize it was the Carli system. I'm not on that. And I also have an inch added to my rear axle. I keep forgetting about that. So with the Carli 2.5 setup, I agree it won't work. With a puck style level like I'm running, I'm still sure it'll work with slightly reduced articulation.

Just curious - is it the 38” height or the 13.5” width that causes the problem with fitment?
The tire diameter. 38” is just too big with the Carli 2.5”.

if you don’t go with the Carli 4.5, I have seen people run 38” with the BDS 4” system. I cant speak to rubbing and articulation with that setup though.

i believe that is the setup that @Nazz112 is running on his killer rig
