I'll also add (for those 7.3 folks out there) that I keep the Bluetooth reader in my glovebox and a couple extra plug wires in the truck just in case. If I do have a plug wire issue I can determine the culprit, swap, and be on my way...Second this. I have both and use the wired for Forscan, Bluetooth if I just need to pull codes or other functions not requiring a laptop.
The reason to go wired with Forscan is the risk of a dropped Bluetooth connection during module writing which can and has happened to people.
