2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

How long is it normally taking for trucks to be delivered to dealers after being built?
My 23 Lariat Ultimate Tremor priority code 14 was built 8/11 shipped 8/15 arrived at my dealership 8/28 total of 17 days for mine KTP to Anacortes, Washington. Still waiting for a production date for my 24 Platinum Tremor.

That doesn't give me much hope of getting my truck scheduled anytime soon.
The 5th wheel prep and the gooseneck hitch kit are both exhausted this week. My 24 plat tremor will be delayed also due to the 5th wheel prep constraint.

Have been thinking and crunching all the new numbers and percentages, and quickly scheduled orders we’ve seen reported on this forum in the last 2 days.

First quick conclusion is the HO diesel is not really constrained as much as the unscheduled order bank numbers would at first seem to show. And the tremors package is not constrained at all.

Ford has plenty of Suoer Duty plant capacity. Otherwise some Latiats and XLT’s would not be scheduled 5 days after they are ordered as we saw yesterday.

Ford needs to keep their plants and suppliers working at a steady rate thru the year. They can’t have luxury trim suppliers going overtime in the fall, and then layed off during spring and summer. But working against this, there seems to be a ton of luxury trim, every bell and whistle trim ordered early when the order banks open. This instantly creates a several month backlog of just those trims since the component suppliers can’t and shouldn’t have to seasonally adjust their factories to this.

So the unscheduled order bank gets quickly depleted of XL, XLT and Lariat, but gets an increasing percentage of every bell and whistle trucks piling up. And the large pile of unscheduled trims includes a bunch of HO diesels. Those HO’s are not piling up due to HO capacity. They are piling up because they are connected to luxury trucks that can’t be scheduled.

As has been pointed out by others, the current luxury trim backlog should be cleared up within six months. Other trims unless new very specific constraints should be scheduled very quickly.

If you need a truck quick, consider the Lariat with the Ultimate Package. Very few differences compared to the Luxury trims.

"We’re excited to let you know that we will begin building your 2024 Super Duty F‑350 Lariat the week of October 30, 2023."
I didn't expect it this early but heck can't complain 🤘

Priority code: 19
2024 F350 Tremor 6.7 HO SAP - "Glacier Gray"
Lariat (non-ultimate) w/ Baja seating & front 40/20/40 split bench

So if Ford does build this truck in the week of 10/30/23, when can I expect to see the truck? This is my 1st time ordering a new Ford truck.
My truck was built 9/25 and I have a delivery estimated for the week of 10/23 to Dallas. Traveling by rail.

I'd guess most are looking at 3 to 5 weeks transit time. Your window sticker will tell you if your truck is shipping rail or convoy (truck). Your dealer can track where the truck is in transit on the Vehicle Visibility Report.

If going by rail, your dealer and Ford chat/customer service can give you the rail car number to track yourself. You have to call the rail company and use the voice system to get tracking details.

Well, one more hour and we'll find out if the strikes are expanding or not... Here's to hoping there's a deal announcement

It'd be great if a deal announcement was made. I expect Ford to not get anything else like last week. It has been rather quiet the last few days as well.

I have a feeling ford is going to be hit hard since it doesn’t appear any movement has been made on either side this week

Sharing a link to a checklist I put together that might be helpful to use when you take delivery of your truck.

This is great! I've been reading up and looking at videos to understand things before hand.

When are you able to see your window sticker ?

I just got word my build week is scheduled for 10/30

I hope I didn’t mess up with Glacier Gray. Otherwise there’s going to be a brand new 2024 for sale real soon.

I passed on delivery for my 2023 because I didn’t like the Oxford White. Fingers crossed it looks ok.
