2023 Super Duty Rear Axle

Most if not all 22- 7.3 Trenors got the Dana M275. I know mine does.
Sorry forgot to clarify 23+, 20-22 Superduty Tremors are simple everything gets the M275 in the rear with a super 60 up front.

With 23+ it appears not all Tremors use the same rear axle for every configuration or even the same M275 anymore like the prior generation Tremors. Every 23+ Tremor Dana axle I have seen resembles more like a M300 center section with smaller tubes than the DRW variant. The new Sterling offering in the 23+ that seems to be more prevalent in the 7.3L Tremors but haven’t been able to definitely pin down what stipulates which axle is used now.

All the 23+ Tremors and Super Duties seem to be random with the axles the assembly line throws in. Not a whole lot of consistency.

Read thru all the posts here and got me wondering what I had. 2024 lariat tremor 6.7 HO. Build date 12/23. Looks like I have the sterling.

I don’t understand Ford’s logic…bigger rear axle, smaller front axle. The D60 front axle was one of the biggest selling points of the Super Duty to me. Maybe they’re going with the Ram/AAM axle approach. Ram uses a 9.25 up front/11.5 in the rear. If the new front axle is in fact a M235 then that would be a 9.25” ring gear vs the 10” ring gear in the 17-22 D60.

Isn't there a big white sticker on the axels from the production lines?

Yes, mine has it. I'll post pics of the tag and the embossed numbers from the front axle of my 2023 F-250 Tremor tomorrow. I think everyone is making a silly big deal about the possibility of the front axles on the '23+ trucks moving to a D50. Regardless, it's all speculation at this point.

Good point. Let's post the front axle stuff there.

I randomly read through this thread and I have a question. Is the Sterling 11.6" a beefier axle than the Dana 275?

I have a 24 350 SRW Lariat Tremor w 3.55ELD 6.7HO that was built 12/23

In theory, yes, but we don't really know. They are too new. The M275 is a 10.8" ring bear (275/25.4). An 11.6" ring gear should be stronger, but we don't know much about the rest of the design and what the weak links might be.

Agreed, However, my 2023 F350 Tremor HO has the hybrid 4" tubes using the Dana 300

Also, I believe the Dana 300 is 11.6 gear as well.
Just have to wait for someone to pop the cover and measure it. The DRW M300 is a 11.8” and manual calls out 11.8” SRW axle. Unfortunately information on the new Dana axle used is extremely sparse.
