2022 F250 Platinum Tremor
After 4 months my new truck came in. First thing I noticed is that it came with the power coated running boards, not the power rb’s I ordered, and that were pictured on my build sheet. Dealer huddle for an hour and came back saying it was a glitch that they were offered and that Tremor package removes the PRB’s from the build, they can’t even order them as an accessory, and they offered me a credit towards other accessories. Is this true that they aren’t available on the ‘22 Platinum Tremor??? I love the truck, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not EXACTLY what i ordered….

I would think that if you can get power boards on a 22 Lariat which I have then you should be on the Platinum.
I just looked at the Ford Build site and it says the power boards are standard on Platinum and Limited level trim packages.
So the dealer is full of shit. I would tell them you want them at no charge.

When you order a Platinum Tremor the order system automatically removes the power boards and replaces them with the stock tremor ones

However, you can go in manually and switch them back to the power boards

If you go to Ford’s web page and build a Platinum you will see this and how you have to manually select the power boards at no extra cost

Now your only option is AMP aftermarket power boards, or just leave it stock

I did that in the build, and the sheet even shows “Power Running Boards”. Dealer called it a glitch in the system and said they couldn’t even order it them, flipped the screen around and showed me even. I’ll look into the AMP brand. Curious if it will sync up with my computer in the truck like my previous platinums.

A glitch that the PRB’s were even offered?
Haven’t heard that one before. But apparently, strange things like this have been reported with the ’21 and ‘22 model year builds.

Did the dealer give you a copy of the build order sheet when you ordered it? He certainly should have! If so, it should show exactly how it was ordered and accepted Into the system. If an option wasn’t compatible with the order, the system wouldn’t let it occur. It forces the person entering the option codes to either not enter the code or add/delete another code so it accepts what you want.
The dealer would have been notified by the factory if there were any shortages or delays regarding your order and he should have notified you immediately.
Both of those running boards are interchangeable without affecting anything else, so I don’t get why the power unit wouldn’t be able to be installed instead of the Tremor boards.

I upgraded my Tremor boards to the Power ones and it was built that way. No “glitch” occurred. I have the Lariat and not the Platinum, but that shouldn’t matter in the case of running boards.

And in either case, I don’t see why your dealer can’t make it right by simply ordering the PRB’s thru the Parts Dept and swap them out when he receives them. The Parts Dept can easily sell the Tremor Running Boards! Lots of non-Tremor Super Duty’s out there would love a set of the Tremor/Raptor boards!
That’s called good customer service... 😉

Agreed all the way. Yes the build sheet showed them. I’ve seen a few other forums mention that this has been an issue with the Platinums. I’ll keep pushing. Thanks!!

Something sounds quite fishy, the dealer gave you the build sheet that shows the power boards prior to you ordering

Then after it came in without the power boards they said it was a glitch & they could not add them in and then showed you they could not add them

Have you plugged your VIN into the Mach E tracker, that shows if the dealer actually ordered them instead of saying they did to cover up their mistake

I’m expecting the platinum tremor I ordered to hit the dealers lot any day, shipped 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, I’m also expecting the power boards I opted for will not be on the truck. My dealer pretty much told me the same thing you were told. Guess Ford has streamlined production in several areas and this was one of them. Installing AMP aftermarket will not be an issue, except for the $1,700 cost. I’ve had the AMP boards on my 2017 Denali for four years and they have performed flawlessly. Enjoy the new truck… you have good taste!

So why is it some platinum tremors are getting power running boards & why is it still a option?

Sounds like some dealers do not know shit and are lying to the customer

Can’t answer that one. My dealer brought it to my attention the day after I deposited, said it might ship with them or might ship without them. I’m leaning toward believing them, insomuch as they immediately brought it to
my attention. But hey, you might be correct, there’s no shortage of incompetence and idiots in the world these days!

Have you looked at the Mach E tracker to see if they are in your build?

I took a look at that, short answer is no. But, they called me after the order was placed and said Ford was not allowing the option of selecting back to the default power boards, that are standard on the Platinum trim. Who knows..right? Ford has done some crazy things trying to keep the ball moving and it certainly could be the dealers mistake. Either way, they aren’t price gouging me, I want to ha e a good relationship with them and there’s plenty of buyers for the truck I ordered. Nothing $1,700 won’t fix!!
