Hello all new member here. Ordered my 2022 Tremor. I have a question though and I'm sure it has been answered but well I'm gonna ask it again....

Do I need a 2.5" to 2" shank adapter for the hitch receiver or do you get one from the factory?

thank you.

My 2020 didn't come with one. It wasn't a big deal. I picked one up just to have it Incase I ever needed it.

My 21’ with a 6.7 came with a 3” hitch and a 3”-2.5” reducer. It did not come with a 2.5”-2”.

If you get the diesel you will have a 3" receiver, the 7.3 comes with a 2.5 receiver. I have the 2.5 and did not get an adaptor.

Pro-tip when shopping for an adapter: try to get one with a flange on the front of it so it can’t slide in too far. Will make lining up the holes much easier.

You got lucky. According to the manual you were suppose to get a 2.5". This is from the 2020 Ford towing guide:

I got a reducer/extender modified by the local hitch company for free if I got the swing-away from them. I wanted a swing-away for a bike rack. They won't fit on a standard reducer, so another hole needs to be drilled and the extra length chopped off due to the big spare in the way. I still need to get it powder coated since it is raw steel.

FYI, If you are hauling something pretty heavy its best to get the same sized shank aa the hitch and not use an adapter. Less slop and wont "waller out" the pin hole.

Congrats on your order

Yeah was considering just ordering a new shank for my toyhauler hitch instead of running an adapter.

That is what I ended up doing. Replaced my drop shank for WDH with a 2.5" one that also had 2 more inches of drop and also got a deal on a 2.5" shank, 8" drop weigh safe for everything else and short trips with the TT.
