Oh man that would be something!

I think they would go with the new GT500 motor though. Supercharged 5.2l V8 - 760HP and 625 torque. ?

It will be interesting to see if they offer two Raptors models or just stick with the twin turbo v6.

I'm praying for a v8? might have to sell the tremor sooner than expected. Or maybe have 3 blue trucks

Yeah, that 5.2L makes sense, as its already exists and is well proven.

Sounded like a V6 exhaust note, IMO

Yup, same motor as the current Raptor. That was kind of a let down.. BUT did you notice this at the end..

So Ford is gonna weakly sit by and let Ram have the glory?

Yeah, there's a lot more value in the SD and normal 1/2 ton markets plus Ford's marketing gurus may have calculated there is more value in the semi-gonzo Raptor than the fully-gonzo.

I hope they stay focused on owning the heavy duty market and bring some awesome upgrades to the 2022 SD Tremor!
I'd eat my hat if Ford makes any changes to the SD for 2022, other than new/discontinued colors. 2023 is the year for changes to the SD

That was a lackluster reveal. 37's and a little more travel? Great! But wait, the TRX offers another 252 HP and 140 lb/ft torque. Even if Ford ups the power a bit, the Raptor seems pretty sad as it is left in its own dust, at least for 2021.

RAM sat around for over 10 years with no rebuttal for the Raptor...the Raptor R will be out soon enough.
good point but kind of disappointing that Ford whiffed here. Still, coming up with an answer to the TRX like 6 months after the TRX was introduced is not realistic.

Now the world, including Dodge, knows the 760 hp 5.2 is probably going in the Raptor R next year so Ford's gonna need to try to squeeze a bit more out of it bc you KNOW dodge won't sit back and leave that TRX with "only" 702hp.

I'm so glad Dodge is strapping ridiculous motors into everything now. Supposedly the minivan is getting a hellcat motor. They're showing the world there's still demand for big ICE engines. Their competitors are going to have to follow suit. I never liked Dodge trucks but if in 2035 all I have to choose from is a hybrid or EV superduty or a powerful gas or diesel dodge 3500, I'll get the dodge 10 out of 10 times.

Hopefully we can stave off the conversion to faggy EVs for a while with car companies competing over a resurgence of fossil fueled muscle cars.

That's more a sad commentary on the times we live in than an indictment of Ford. By way of reference the P-51 Mustang went from the drawing board to a flying prototype in 6 months! And that was a complete clean sheet aircraft - rather a more daunting effort than sticking a new engine in an existing truck.* YMMV ;)

*And they didn't have no stinkin' computers!
Course maybe that is why they could do it so fast -
nobody was playing video games on the sly. :)

Well I am safe for now, not going to go completely broke by buying trucks since it is still a V6. Next year could be a different story.
