I know they idle up when cold, just would like to be able to hit high idle for extended idle.Do the 6.7s have a high idle option factory like the duramax?
This video needs to be a stickyYou have to put a resistor between the correct wires in the PTO bundle and turn it on with an upfitter. I've never done it but see video below. Sounds like the DMax was easier.
agreed... @modified is there a way to make a tab for sticky threads?????This video needs to be a sticky
I was thinking to use the method in the video but just switch out the resistor with a variable one and just have it tucked in the kick panel in case I felt I ever needed a different idle speed.12 volt solutions makes one that doesn’t require an upfitter.

It be good for running a winch or lights for extended times are well ... But for warm up I don't think it is neededI was going to do the high idle mod with the video listed, even ordered some connection for the splice.
Then I went to Colorado this past weekend to Snowboard and relax with my wife over Christmas in Telluride. I started my truck one morning to go hiking on Galloping Goose trail outside of town, I remote started and when I came outside to pull around and pickup my wife I was pleasantly surprised when I jumped in. The truck was idling at 1200 rpm!
The rapid supplement heater and heated seat was going, I was a very happy camper.
Still might do the high idle switch for the times I idle for extended time. I hate shutting down a diesel if I’m going to restart in 1-15 minutes.

Curious as to why it went to high idle on its own? Is it just the cold weather condition?I was going to do the high idle mod with the video listed, even ordered some connection for the splice.

I guess it was the temperature.Curious as to why it went to high idle on its own?
Yeah, I just reread the thread and saw that could do it.I guess it was the temperature.
The kit is more expensive but it’s less steps (slightly) to use and less work to install.I like the kit listed above, but might go uplifter switch route instead.
I’d like the 1200 rpm option.
Definitely! But the uplifter switch give you the option to use it or not. I feel the parking break will get annoying that idle kicks up every time I use it.The kit is more expensive but it’s less steps (slightly) to use and less work to install.
I rarely use the parking brake on anything.Definitely! But the uplifter switch give you the option to use it or not. I feel the parking break will get annoying that idle kicks up every time I use it.
My driveway is sloped I use it every time I don't park in the garage and my cabin up north at 7000 ft. has grades EVERYWHERE! definitely different terrain I guess.I rarely use the parking brake on anything.
Visit coon rapids frequently. Can’t leave for a few years but I’ll be heading west as soon as my daughter is out of school. My driveway is sloped I use it every time I don't park in the garage and my cabin up north at 7000 ft. has grades EVERYWHERE! definitely different terrain I guess.
Side note I see your from MN, I was born and raised in Coon Rapids. Got the hell out of there after school and relocated to Arizona. You don't need to shovel the sunshine LOL. I really miss ice fishing this time of year tho, I'll be back in February for that!
