So my 2021 7.3L tremor started lurching really bad and sounded awful, took it into the dealer and they said something came loose in the transmission and it ate itself... my question is has anyone had any luck with getting a loaner vehicle from Ford? The truck has 4500 miles and has been in the shop for 2 weeks with no timeline when it will be done.

I don't think Ford is responsible for a loaner unless you opted for the ESP that includes loaners. Now, the really good dealers will take care of you regardless of an ESP. With the low inventory, they may not have that many loaners now.

Question, with the ESPs, the loaners can be had immediately after purchasing the plan? For some reason i assumed ESPs kick in after 3 year 36miles warranty. Probably a wrong assumption.

When my 2018 F150 5.0 broke a valve spring, they had the truck for 3 weeks. They gave me a loaner without an esp. They said Ford did it because it was still under the powertrain warranty(49,000 miles when it broke).

My salesman has been great hooking me up with one, ask them if you haven't tried that.

Did you go back to the dealer where you bought it? I had to drive 45min to mine but they gave me an expedition for a week last time I had some work done, my local dealer was not very accommodating on loaners or fitting me in, assuming because I didnt buy it there.

WTF! This makes me nervous.

My transmission has had some really rough shifting recently. Last week I had my wife in the truck and while cruising at ~50 mph on a straight, flat road and the truck randomly shifted so hard my wife yelled “What the fuck was that?!” thinking we had been rear ended.

When I looked at the dash I was in 9th gear in Normal drive mode. Made no sense. Have had a few like this recently. 😬

My 10-speed shifts like a millennial city girl - not good. 10,000 miles on the odo. Most hard "bangs" seem to happen when feeding throttle back in after letting off throttle. Some are so hard it's hard to imagine no damage occurring.

So people are having tranny issues in the 6.7 and 7.3? I have the 6.7 no issues so far at 22k

I've have had the same thing occur multiple times. Just hope it breaks before 125k miles when the ESP runs out.

So mine is ‘21, 7.3, and shifts horribly. From 9 to 8 under any load is a slam into gear. Starting out from stop, with a steady throttle, it searches for a gear, jumping from 1 to 3, then maybe hits 4 to quickly jump to 5, then you may be at 45 mph and its in 10 already, only to drop if let off gas. I know in some earlier threads, esp with the 7.3, folks said it tries to get to 10 fast, better fuel mileage. Not sure about all that, but am sure Im not really a fan as it is now.

That sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing.
