The March 2024 TOTM contest showcased a stunning array of photos, with 22 impressive entries making the decision incredibly tough. With a total of 80 votes counted, @04sshd emerged as the winner, clinching the March 2024 Tremor of the Month title! Congratulations! ๐Ÿ† Hats off to @TellurideTremor for their close second place and @AZsurveyor for a solid third-place achievement!

If you didn't get a chance to see the poll, all the Tremor photos are still available for viewing in the voting thread here:

A big thank you to everyone who participated by submitting photos and casting votes.

The next contest will kick off the first week of April!

I love this picture! It's fun to see the "antics of mindless people". I would vote for this if it was the criteria of the month.

It's tough to run a series like this, I would imagine there are a lot of people that can't make the beautiful pictures that we see in this contest for reasons across the board. I would love to have someone shooting me in a situation where I was doing something cool with the truck, but I generally have the camera with me and can't take the photo. Guess I need to hire a photographer. ๐Ÿ˜

I have to admit, the @04sshd photo was awesome the way it was set up and I believe this was the draw for most to vote for it. It doesn't match the criteria exactly, but a LOT of people voted for this photo simply because it was good. (Great composition and lighting)

That said, I typically vote for the best photo that MEETS the criteria in my opinion. I don't usually vote for myself because it just doesn't seem right.
So far, I have NOT picked a winner yet. This time around, I voted for one that came close but also, met all the criteria.

I can't blame anyone for voting the way they see as the best pick for them, it's what they liked and it's nice to see this every month. I would personally like to see a "top three" vote, given one or two days for a response, and the highest points photo wins. This would certainly get all of the votes focused on the best observed photo in the group and possibly sway the outcome.

But it's easy for us to try to pick out rules and criteria, it's a lot harder (and possibly frustrating) for the administrator to meet everyone's wants. Hats off to @modified for keeping this going. It gets a lot of conversation and participation.

Good luck to anyone entering their truck in this competition, may the dirtiest, most abused truck, win, or maybe the cleanest before and after... (Top color?)
I think you nailed it!

This would certainly the best way to go about any voting in the future and narrow it to the "top best" as you mentioned in another round. This can easily be accomplished by the number of likes a photo gets. Likewise, the top 3 entries with the most "likes" are the ones that ultimately gets classified into the voting stages. Also making it very interesting for all to determine who will be the last to stand -- nail bitting for sure!

Similarly to a playoff setting, you have a season with the most wins to classify, or likes in this case gets a chance to enter voting stages, and classify into the playoffs for a match of the best then.

Like you, in an attempt to be fair for the photo that best matches the criteria, I pick the best of the bunch but this month was the exception - had to give love where love was due.

@modified what possibilities are there to introduce this new format into the TOMT contest?

Mods I demand next monthโ€™s TOTM category be ONLY available to XLTโ€™s in white, with a truck camper mounted AND say TRAMPER on the bedsides as well as the license plates. Canโ€™t we get a category that other people (ME!!!!!!!) can win?? Come on this is BS.

Jeez I just realized I got beat by @Optimus that is embarrassing.
Well if yours didn't look like a decepticon...

I don't want to turn this into an internet war over some pictures but I have been on the running on a few of these monthly contest and not only do I always meet full criteria, I also seem to be overthrowned by the all-too-typical "portrayal" shot that was so elegantly set up and taken.

While the criteria was "dominating or extraordinary" shot against a setting or natural terrain, for the few that happen to catch that snapshot of what was an eventful and real-life situation, we will never stand a chance to claim a month. After all, it's the forum members who decides who gets the vote and majority wins.

To add to @Alpoba post - we also need a month where the captures are taken out in the wild or country side terrain but who can mantain the cleanest truck because its obvious these are all staged and this seem to be common picture posted and subsequently the winners.

Certainly no offense to @04sshd who staged a perfectly outstanding shot agaisnt the sun and received the most votes but it also seems that if you are not running Carli and sittting on 37s, you don't fit in.

Kuddos to the winner and no doubt a beautiful rig.

I understand your frustration, but I don't think my entry was out of the theme.

"This month, we're celebrating the versatility of the Tremor in every environment imaginable. Whether it's dominating its natural terrain or captured against an extraordinary setting, we want to see your Tremor in all its glory."

The tremor is versatile, from towing to its offroad abilities. I live in the desert and this photo was taken on a dry lake bed where we were doing some promo shots for a vendor. The truck handles well at speed on the dry lake bed, I think that shows versatility. It also shows the natural terrain as in the desert setting, and the dry lake bed is the background, and it was captured at sunset with the light rays going through the clouds as it sets behind the Sloan mountain range creating an extraordinary setting.

I mean it's not like it was a towing theme and I posted up with no trailer.

Those were never my accusations and I agree that your shot met the criteria (a stellar shot, mind you) -- you can reference my post, also referencing the theme criteria. My point was more or less, that unless you have a professional "portrait" type shot of the rig, you will never catch the attention of other forum members or votes -- again, not your fault either. Your shot was very well taken and I would not except any less from a vendor; after all, its all about catching the attention of the customer and your shot did just that (votes in this case).

It is a spectacular shot to be placed on the cover page of a magazine, no less.

My take is simply, as other forum members have mentioned, the staleness of the same type of shot, month after month. Some (perhaps a minority) want to see something for a change and this does not imply an invalid entry or make your rig or shot any less for that matter. You did get majority votes and that is what counts.

We'll keep refining and tweaking the contest format and themes. These contests are all in fun and the chance to see some amazing Tremors photos that might not typically be shared on the forum. I look forward to these every month!
