Kuat sells one just like that. You probably made yours for a lot less than the Kuat reducer although the Kuat reducer does come with magnets to keep the sleeves from sliding out unexpectedly when you remove the rack.

You are correct, mine is the “rounded” one but it was also what Ford was selling in 2022 when I bought the truck. That said, looking closely at the picture in the link you can clearly see the same sort of locking design to attach the two halves together….
Factory bed extender installed. As I noted above there were no threaded inserts in the middle holes for the pivot bolts to screw in to. I had to take out the taillights (super easy) and add a bolt to the inside to install them but they work just fine.
It is exposure to oxygen and oxidation that is the issue. The more oxygen exposure the more the flavor will change over time. Once it gets under a quarter it is time to finish it off. And enjoy the Macallan; they are always a good dram.
