You're sure it’s not your trailer hitch, right.
I’m sure you’ve removed it, but in case you didn’t think of it, mine clink and clacks when going over bumps sometimes.
I’d say the treads feel more flexible because they’re deeper than the Duratracs, but the 3 ply side wall keeps the tire firm.
The treads on the tire definitely flex when grabbing them, I don’t think I’d ever consider this material as hard.
Keep us posted how you like them. I should be in snow next week, it’s really hard to find a negative review on either of the Falken A/T offerings, so keep that in mind when you read one or two people’s perspectives on the forum.
I only wanted to start a thread that would share my unbiased...
@Vermonster, I’ve never owned a set of Falkens in my life. Thought I’d share a tire that is newly developed and was released literally within the last month how they perform on our trucks.
As mentioned I’ll be sure to post my experience with these as I get some miles on. I hope to become a...
@Tex_Hunter, I was told that yesterday by the manager of my local Discount Tire. He said he believed they’re discontinued.
I could’ve got the A/T3 had I chose them, but he mentioned that might be the last time I had that option.
This specific size was made in Chy-na. I read other reviews where theirs came from Thailand. Unfortunately this size did not.
Edit to add; Sumitomo Rubber.
That’s pretty much what my research concluded as well. Towing, sidewall strength and longevity (60,000 mile “guarantee”) led me to go with these.
It was a good problem to have, I was dead set on getting the A/T3’s and having to decide between the two Falkens was the hardest decision in tire...
Not sure on that, tech seemed very educated and I watched most of the install and talked to him about balancing procedures. Road force balancing and a couple acronyms were dropped I wasn’t familiar with, but gave me confidence he was either as good of a bull shitter that I am or knows what he’s...
They aligned yellow dot with valve stem on all four tires. As mentioned the “worst” if we call 6oz of tire weights was the most required.
Tech mentioned after 5k of mileage on the tire will likely reduce balance weight requirements as they wear in, rotate and rebalance.
Yes, sir. One sort of complaint I’d add on this tire is, holy shit they’ve listed EVERY SINGLE DETAIL on this sidewall, it’s busy and full of information LOL.
