I swapped mine out to AGM last week and changed forscan bcm settings from flooded to agm and charge state from 120% to 100%. I looked all over the web and never saw any consensus on what to set it at...so far so good, way more cranking power.
Been getting this fault the last few times I have towed. It usually happens when braking downhill or at slow speeds in stop and go. The truck will buck and act like it wants to move with foot on brake even at a stop, very strange and concerning. It will go into limp mode but always clears...
I assume you added the exact temp value above your gauge in forscan. I did the same and probably shouldnt have as it annoys me how high the temps get compared to older trucks I have had. Its just the way they want this trans to run, if the value wasnt there it would be right in the middle on...
Thanks for posting, havent seen this specific issue posted before. My trans was replaced shortly after new on my 2020 due to a TC leak, supposedly with an "updated" trans. Would be nice to know if it included this new drum. I did get an extended 100k warranty to cover the drivetrain as I do...
I use manual mode towing with cruise as well, just dont care for the crazy aggressive cruise programming. It needs to adapt with a larger deadband in tow mode but does not...just trys to maintain +/- 1mph like its empty. The most annoying thing for me is once it decides to do a dramatic drop...
Apparently this issue is common with the 6.2L so you can search the web for similar symptoms. Seems like it was a fuel pump/supply problem and usually fixed with a new pump. Think the 7.3 and 6.2 have a similar fuel supply system if not identical.
I sure hope this is just a bad batch of lifters, this 7.3 was going to my long term truck. Ive seen reports of several 7.3 motors well over 100k so I know 40K is not how long they last but if it turns out to be a lifter design issue I'm just selling and going back to a 5.9 Cummins, and deal...
Seems like the specialty vehicles (broncos, raptors, mustangs, etc) do a better job pulling off these odd colors, kinda fall flat on most of the trucks or looks like they are trying too hard to look different, dunno.
You can disconnect the front in about 30 sec, its just a nut on each side and swing it out of the way. I did it and played around in a ditch on my property, actually its the pic in my avatar. It did make it flex a little more but the suspension is so stiff it doesnt quite flex like the jeeps I...
