Godzilla Down...And Now Back Up - Update on Page 2

Never as long as I would like. Usually a few weeks each year. Hope to spend 4-5 months there each year once I finally get retired in a few more years. It pains me each season when the boat comes out of storage and goes in the water and I'm not there. I've converted lots of Texans to Mass...

@TremorKR I just noticed you're a Masshole...:) What part of state? Love it up there. Family has had a house on the Cape for years. LOVE being there in the summer when it is 100+ in Texas and the striped bass are running off of Monomoy. Also always struck by just how few Super Duty's there...

Totally agree, and I might have come off a bit harsh. It's each individual's money, and their right to spend it as they choose and if it helps someone sleep at night or makes their life easier, that is their choice to make. I mostly just resent dealers taking advantage of unwary consumers...

What do y’all do for a living?

Kind of a random combination, but I'm a CPA who owns an electrical contracting firm. I turn 52 tomorrow and hope to be fully retired at 56. Kind of on the downhill slide towards that now, as I have some good people working for me and often my schedule is pretty free. Bought a small farm in...

Well, here is the update, and I'm going to have to eat a little crow on this one. Maybe... Turns out I MOSTLY fixed it.... Dealer called yesterday and said truck was ready to go. I was a little surprised as last I had heard from them was a bank 1 valvetrain issue, which would fall right in...

Thanks. Insurance is a pretty good comparison, as those guys are in it to make money as well, but it's often a requirement under state law, terms of a mortgage, etc. I guess it really depends on what risk tolerance an individual has, and what they would consider a "catastrophic" loss. You...

You realize it is a gamble tilted in favor of the house, just like craps or blackjack in a casino? Ford is the house in this case, and if it was not profitable for Ford to offer them, they would either not be offered or offered at a higher price. I would wager they have a VERY detailed pricing...

Ford's new Retractable Bed Rails Patent

I would be all over something like that, as you could still tow a gooseneck with the rails retracted.

Thanks for posting that. First time I have come across those guys. If I wasn't 12 years down the Land Rover rabbit hole I would be browsing for a Cayenne donor vehicle.

If a few hundred million ever roll my way from a lotto win, the one car I would I hire a team to track down for me would be one of the Paris-Dakar 959's.

And for giggles since I’m now day drinking, here’s my Landy walking up the “the wall” at Poughkeepsie Gulch in CO. Just to ward off any “mail crawling” comments.

I honestly can’t help but enjoy the irony as I’m rolling around in my super modded Landy. Otherwise, I might cry. I own 3 Land Rovers, 2 P-cars and an Italian dirt bike and the Ford shits the bed before any of them. LOFNL. F@ck Jeeps… Still waiting on dealer.

    Installed cool tailgate accessory!

I've seen these and considered it. I don't leave my tailgate down when hauling my bike as it can bounce when going over bumps. Always seemed like a good way to damage a multi-K tailgate. Normally I just kick the rear end to one side as mentioned above and close the gate.
