Long bed "tremor" build- now a Black Lariat HO

Added in some front amber/white strobe lights from Code3 and I left a pigtail to connect rear lights up as well when I get time to do those.

I also finished wiring in my winch today and installed some shackles from rhino USA. I only have a 12k winch but it’s more for work purposes than for possible vehicle recovery. For the winch I wired to the driver side battery with a 300amp inline ANL fuse. Replaced driver side battery terminal with a mil spec style one as well. Once it cools off tonight I’m gonna tinker in forscan and see if I can disable the BMS setting. If so I’ll replace the rest of the battery terminals and “delete” that plug on the passenger side negative battery.

On another note- I got a new toy delivered today 😊

That front wheel has a mean lean. On purpose?

That front wheel has a mean lean. On purpose?
Need to get in for an alignment still.
I think some of it is also just the bumper
You scared me a bit so I came out to look at it and the full tire doesn’t look too bad.. I think

Forscan changes:
Disable all chimes
Tire size to 2770
TPMS to 45 front and rear

Then I pulled the doors apart on both trucks. Sprayed lizard skin inside the doors on the black truck followed by sound deadening material and then scavenged the ten7 door hole block off plates from the white truck and put them in the black truck.

While the lizard skin was drying I started to build a storage box for survey equipment in the white truck
Got 2 10” square-ish holes for tripods
A 24” wide center drawer that I need to add dividers and rod holders into
And a 2 foot deep box at the cab side of the bed for luggage while they travel
I still need to add a second level but I am waiting for the diamond back bed cover to come in first so I can see how much space is left. I’d like to get misc storage space and a dedicated spot for boxes of spray paint up top still. And I gotta fill in the pockets before/ after wheel well

Quite a full day for a Thursday.
1- found the rattle that has been driving me batty since Saturday. The driver side battery ground cable mount was stuck between the wheel liner and frame and wind turbulence from the tire was making it rattle inside the cab above 50 mph

2- pulled the stock lariat steps off the black truck and put them on my white XL that is going to my field crew. Then threw the AMP steps from the white XL onto the lariat.
3- installed a diamond back HD bed cover on the XL and finished up the survey equipment box I was working on for it. It’s not perfect but it’s a helluva lot cheaper than the fancy metal ones that highway products make
It’s got a 6 foot deep bay for tool storage and rod holders and then the cab side has a separate 2 foot deep bay for luggage since we travel all across the country and they’re in the field for 3-6 weeks at a time

I think you need a youtube channel with all these mods! Do you ever work?

I think you need a youtube channel with all these mods! Do you ever work?
I am nowhere near a good YouTube personality unfortunately… my brother says the same thing though. But as soon as a camera comes out I’m like Ricky Bobby “I don’t know what to do with my hands”

Technically this was work 👍🏻
I bought the black truck for myself because I needed another truck to use this summer for our field crew so I am getting the white XL that I started this build with set up as a new survey truck for my guys.

My crew is already out in the field and we are getting tight on vehicles so there’s a bit of a time crunch on this and I’ve got my mechanic getting our new semi truck prepped for its maiden voyage with us.

One of the other aspects of my day job and the reason I have a pickup

1000 pounds of solid core augurs for my geotech rig

Finally got my shipping notification on my PMF 3 link arms.. no idea when the install will happen as work just turned everything upside down on me
