Discount Tire Looking Into Tremor Package’s 129 Tire Index Rating (4,079 lbs)

Just got back from Discount Tire. Another perfect job. Method 317 Titanium's and Nitto 35x13.50-20 Ridge Runners. Road force balanced, the most weight on any tire was 5.0 with 2.5 being the least. Smooth as glass will be leaving for the ranch tomorrow early going to put about 1300 miles on them in the next 72 hours.

I think the OP is in Logan or something, if I recall - so yes, in Utah, but pretty far north and not reasonable to drive to SLC or further south for tires.

That said, Corey Sanders @ BigO in Sandy will take good care of you and get the job done right. =]

So the OP never responded on this, I’m assuming discount tire told him to pound sand.

It’s very frustrating, there are effectively no tires, and certainly no wider tires, that discount will put on my truck.

Had the same issue. Was a hassle for them to sell me the tires even if they weren’t going to mount them. The admin @modified helped out big time and met me there with his Bronco and they sold the tires to me ‘to be used with the Bronco only’. Couple days later found an independent big rig shop and they mounted them on my truck 😅

They will install 295's

I recently had Falken AT3'S 295 70 18. I really like everything about them. Installed they are only half inch narrower that a 12.50.

I got these 35's at Discount Tire. So far I really like them!

Don’t use discount tire.
I've been using them for a long time and they always been good for me. I'm sure it varies from store to store.
They've gone out of there way on several occasions, including patching a trailer tire for me.
Wasn't their tire, didn't have any warranty, they just did it on the spot and did it for free.
That is worth something and it wasn't the only time.

But they are getting more strict on following the rules. They aren't the only ones.
I'm sure they are just trying to cover their ass in this sue-happy world where nobody takes responsibility for their own bad decisions.
Last time I tried to buy 4 tires for my dually and rotate the 2 good ones up front, they did hesitate at first.
After a short talk with the manager, I told them I was well aware of different tire sizes vs 4x4, etc, they sold me 4, mounted and balanced.

The manager also stated that if you bring in just the rims instead of the whole vehicle, they are less strict.
The liability is then on the customer for whatever they do with the tires/rims after they leave the shop.

Just left there an hour ago. Had no issues and they beat anyone else’s price by over $200 dollars. Peace of mind knowing they have shops every where I travel.

Not to mention priced 35x12.50 MT’s to put on my stock wheels to use in the winter. Maybe if you spend enough or are nice enough they will overlook a few things. Sometimes it helps to be nice instead stop trying to talk to a manager when you don’t like the answer you get. Everyone hates a Ken or a Karen.

Not sure what size tires and wheels you got? I just purchased five 295 70 18 and put them on stock wheels. Didn't want bigger. If you put a 12.50 on stock wheel you will have the sidewalls protruding way beyond the rim edge, looks terrible and can affect function. How much you spend means nothing to Discount Tire. I if I were you would not be boasting on a public forum about this, you could cost someone their job.

The rules 99% of Discount Tire stores adhere to are company wide and are strictly adhered to. It has nothing to do with who or how you talk to someone that are employed there, or if anyone's names are Ken or Karen.

FYI, 305mm is a foot (12.007874 inches), so a 315 (12.401574) is essentially a 12.5 wide tire, just not labeled that way. I figure if you want a 35" tire, get a 315 70 18.

I will be getting one last set of the 35x13.50-20 Ridge Grapplers for my truck (Method 317 wheels) late this summer. Going to order a 2025 AT4X AEV Edition when the order book opens. Will be putting the same wheels and tires on the new GMC except bigger. The factory take off wheels 18 in will be popular to sell as new with tires mounted to them. ;)

I got 296/65 20. They are on new 20x10 wheels so that wasn’t an issue. They never questioned the 35x12.50’s going on stock wheels. He even suggested that size because they were cheaper and in stock.

In my opinion that is why the 37 x 11:50 x 18's are the perfect fit for the Tremors .. but seem like they have been discontinued. I do not like a tire that sticks out past the fenders... but then I also like chrome bumpers and vinyl floors in trucks .

lawyers and litigators having a field day on different tires.
