Bill D’s build thread

They’re too short. The back are 100% straight forward. The front needs like an extra half an inch or so. There’s a video by @Nyskiya that details it exactly. WeatherTech has been known to send the correct hardware, or you can go to a local hardware store and find suitable replacements.
Thanks, the flaps I just found on my doorstep.

Got my steering stabilizer installed from the group buy. Pretty easy install, but huge shoutout to the guys who contacted Fox and got the correct instructions. I don’t know if it makes a difference, but seems like orientation of the reserve would be kinda important. I also wish the decal wasn’t upside down.

First picture is stock.

Just took a little joy-ride to test. I have to say, I didn’t dislike the performance of the stock setup. But this is a noticeable improvement.

I started on 11 clicks and drove some of the roughest roads in Louisiana. (Imagine post-war Baghdad) Much less feedback in the steering wheel from potholes and bumps in the road. No noticeable difference in turning stiffness and feel. The biggest thing was when I drive through puddles on the road… you know that pull in the wheel to the puddle side? Gone! Worth every penny. Especially at the discounted rate!

New gear from Banks going in as soon as I get the right sockets.
How many miles on your rig now? You were one of the first ones with 2020 tremor. Everything holding up ok?

I just clocked 68k. She’s been a dream. I had to have the BCM replaced at 4k and haven’t had a single issue since.

I do my own service every 7k or so and air / fuel filters every two oil changes. I’ve also run Opti-lube XPD the entire time.

Easily the best vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Super easy install. Took a beer and a half to do in the driveway. The old oil looked good and I didn’t find any metal in the bottom of the diff. I did think the wear marks on the old cover were odd, but this is my first diff cover removal, so it may be normal.

The Banks hardware is far superior. I love the sight glass and the top fill design. Gale sure makes a convincing argument on the engineering. I’ll see if I can find any real world benefit. If nothing else, it looks damn good.
