Had an appt at the VA hospital, came out and approached my truck from the drivers side (parking garage, I backed in). Jumped in, looked right and a bunch of spots to my right were empty. So I pull out and cut the wheel right as the lanes are tight and I hear/feel a “crunch.” I’m like WTF WAS THAT?!? Put it in reverse and the camera comes up and I see something red on the 360 cam, so I back up back into my spot and jump out… and there was a Red Corvette there. Couldn’t see the damn thing over the pax seat to my right! Trucks barely a month old! It just scratched the bottom of my fender trim, but my right rear tire got his fender

Didn’t have a pen on me, so I had to run around the parking garage to find someone to give me a one, left my number on the only piece of paper in the truck… a Granger business card! :ROFLMAO:

Guy called me a few hours later, clearly pissed, but my insurance (USAA) called him within a few minutes. He texted me back and thanked me for leaving my number, and was pretty cool about it after. Then I found out the kicker…. He was leaving the next day for the Corvette museum in Bowling Green to pick up a C8 he won in a drawing!

So, anyway, just because you don’t see a friggin car there doesn’t mean there isn’t one. These trucks are a lot taller than you think.

Walk around. Everytime! Someone at my work got ran over and killed because somebody was in a rush and didn't do a walk around.

That sux, I hit a cement pole in a parking lot the other day, it was just below the hood line so didnt see it...these trucks sit up high but I felt like a damn fool after it happened. Smacked it pretty good but mostly just caved in the front bumper and scuffed the headlight/fender. Got a new winch bumper and warn winch on order so turning the lemons in to lemonade :D

I drive around a minute or two or three to find THAT spot where there isnt anyone parked in the next 10 spots. Even of that means a far end of the parking lot or a more distant lot. So that when i walk back I’ll definitely see something parked next to the beast.

But to each their own, i see many HD trucks parked right in front of the stores, squeezed into small parking spots, surrounded by small sedans on all sides. I assume the owners of these rigs like to avoid the extra walking.

Who TF is going to do a walk around... Accidents happen. If what you said is true, that's sad... But I'm not going to pre-op my truck or do a preflight, have wing walkers, etc (I'm in aviation) every time I pull the truck out of a spot.

I had an opposite experience, recently. Drive my Tremor down to the FL coast for Memorial Day vacation. Condo complex, where I typically stay, was very crowded so parking was whatever you can get (they will tow you if you park anywhere but an actual parking space). Last night there I backed into the only spot I could find and recall there was a white SUV on my right. When I got back home and washed the truck, found a nice white paint streak on the front corner (driver's side). Barely noticeable, after getting after it with the compound, but certainly annoying and no note left, of course. I guess you have to get the "new" knocked-off at some point.

It takes literally 10 seconds to do a lap around a truck.

Hahaha, I was in an Arby's drive through leaned over, rooting around in my glove box. I looked up and didn't see anything so I let my foot off the brake to pull to the order window and WHACK, hit a 2018 Corvette lol. My tow loops put nice divets in his rear bumper. $1850.00 lol. His car was totally below my hood line.

The owners of the parking lots keep making the parking spots smaller. My F350 CC SB 4x4 can't fit in a single parking spot at ANY store or public area around St Louis. I always park away from all cars. Just in case.
