On mine they had us change the fuel filters (they were fine which we already knew since truck only had 8k miles) and then after eliminating that as a cause Ford came back and said it’s a “normal operation noise”
There is a service bulletin for a re-flash on the trans shifting - mine seems to have gotten better but if you’re still having issues I would ask your dealer about the software update
That is hogwash. Our turbocharged engines are factory filled with 10w30 dino oil specced by Ford engineers and again it has literally thousands of documented OA’s proving that it holds up great well beyond the manufacturer OCI recommendations. Put syn in your truck if it makes you feel better...
That’s exactly what I said and the point remains: unless you live in an extremely cold climate, why use a motor oil that will extend service intervals and then dump it EARLIER than the recommended interval? Pointless. You would be more than covered at 10k miles with syn (as you are with dino...
Possible- I’m not finding much online but did find a vid a guy made on another forum with the same exact sound and he described his as a ‘gurgling coming from exhaust’ - hard to tell exactly where it is coming from- definitely rear of the truck though
Mine has done this twice while pulling up my driveway- seemed to be a certain sequence of unplugging the USB & pressing a button on the screen like it was stuck between ACP and Sync so it just blacked out. Both times it worked fine at the start up next morning.
Why is it ‘always best’ when there are literally thousands of documented OA’s proving that conventional motor oil still has significant (30-50 percent) life left upon draining at the mfgr’s recommended intervals of 10k miles? There are also multiple OA’s showing the benefits of synthetic are...
Changing oil too early does nothing to help your engine - it actually can be slightly harmful though not in any kind of quantifiable way: oils typically take around 1,000 miles to bond/ form the full protective layer on engine parts so every time you change you are starting this process over to...
FWIW Ford says in the manual that 1 hour idling is the equivalent of putting 25 miles ‘wear’ on the motor - I agree with turning it off if it’s gonna sit more than 5 minutes or so unless you have been running it hard and then it’s def better to let it idle 10 mins or so to help let everything...
Same here- took mine in for excessive noise and they said it was LPFP - they dropped the tank and put a new one and it still does it. They called in to Ford Friday to see if they have any guidance and I’m waiting to hear back. Symptoms are loud pumping noise / humming and a vibration/ banging...
If you leave your My key thing or whatever it’s called in the truck it won’t double honk- of course someone could just drive off in your shit but small price to pay to not have to hear that infuriating double honk
My 6.7 does this whether you have the key fob or not, just noticed it for the first time the other night. Not sure the point- I know some trucks I’ve had before would auto assist with lighting if it thought you were staying in the truck after shutoff so might be an exit sequence thing, idk
I have a clunk (6.7) when backing up to turn around in the driveway first thing every morning - sounds like it’s passenger side front suspension related but the weirdest thing is it only does does it for a few seconds as I turn around & go down the gravel drive (bumpy) and then it’s quiet until...
