Mine was a rusty mess from the beginning. Original oxide coated. It did save my tailgate as it had been bent up with a bar of some sort..trying to get the latch open.
Good idea. We considered that but chose not to drill all the holes required for the corresponding attachment strength. Alluminum riv nuts may be better.
Heads up on the alluminum box issues. Dissimilar metal corrosion is an issue. Have had some ugly stuff happen to our work trucks. Steel bolts thru the alluminum bed...little salt and water mix..the rest you know.
Bad news. What do you see as water evidence. Filters. Pumps corrosion? Is there a common mileage or other factors that you see?.trying to stay ahead of it. Treating my fuel, drain the tank filter every month, change both filters every 10k miles..
