2023 build “Dear John” letters

Thought this would be interesting to see what builds are getting the email from ford telling you how supply chain issues are pushing your build back

I should be getting my third one from ford any day now for my Lariat Ultimate Tremor 7.3 build. I ordered it 10-28-22…

While I don't have a 23 SD on order, I do have a 23 Escape ordered and have been getting those notifications. Build week started out in early Jan. but moved to late Jan, early Feb, late Feb, mid-Mar, and now late April.

UGH. I can't imagine how this feels. I probably "built" different versions of my truck in the website 100 times from October 2020 till I finally walked in my dealer and ordered in January 2021. And waiting the 8 weeks it took for build and delivery felt like a long time. I can't imagine waiting 6 months or more...

I was fortunate on my Tremor order... About the same as yours 7ish weeks order to delivery.

Now that Escape is prolly sitting amongst the SD’s @ UofL or at J Mall. There are thousands around the town too! Ford locally has said plant was shut down due to software glitch! Unlike the KTP who keeps on buildings trucks they actually shut down LAP down for weeks.

F350 Platinum order. I've only received the initial confirmation email and then received one of the 45 day emails at the 90 day point. It is odd that some receive emails regularly, others sporadically, and some have never received anything at all. From a technology standpoint, it is confusing how this would be the case (when assuming that Ford has the correct email for the customer).

When I ordered a tremor from Granger in 12/21, I was told to expect a wait of 4 to 6 months. I never would have guessed in a million years that I'd still be waiting. I did switch from a tremor to a 450 late last summer, but I was at priority 2 with the tremor order for at least 6 months. It really ticked me off to see Limiteds ordered months after me (also from Granger) get scheduled while I didn't. If I hadn't been scheduled/built as a '23 at this point, I would have ordered a '24 GMC.

Actually I called my dealer and asked about ordering a tremor in just lariat not lariat ultimate and take whichever came in first. He said they would, but with me adding stuff to the lariat order to make it where I wanted it it wouldn’t make sense ….I’m gonna pull my hair out by the time this thing gets built and delivered.

I also ordered a truck 10/28/22, email order confirmation 10/30/22, supply chain email 12/15/22 = 46 days, supply chain email 1/29/23 = 45 days, and now no update at the 47 day mark. These numbers include weekends.

This will be an interesting comparison. I have a feeling the F250 orders will show up first. I'm trying to mentally prepare to expect my F350 order next year and if it does show up in '23 I can be pleasantly surprised!

As you can see in my Sig. it was 18 months from order to delivery of my Tremor. So I don't want to hear any crying about 7 or 8 months.

I like the "Shipped 1/12/23", then just kidding! We really didn't ship it.

So for 18mos I have been driving by my dealer...and they had an empty lot....nothing! Its a pretty large dealer! Been looking to drive the Bronco Sport, maybe trade my Edge for one. Well during the last 3 months my dealers lot is almost full again. They have ten Broncos on the lot. Lots of others too. So while I was buying my Bronco Sport Jenny my usual sales lady told me she just delivered a special order that was sent in Aug of 2021. THATS 22 Months! it wasn't a 22......it ended up being a 23........

Sorry Times we live in.....
